TIPS FOR WORKING WITH COLORED LAUNDRY

Clothes are made for expression, and what better way to express yourself other than colors? But wearing colors comes at a price: colors have to be washed well, and special care has to be taken while washing them. Or else your precious clothes can lose their beautiful colors or worse, and all the colors can mix up to drain every single piece of clothing in that batch. This, however, can be countered by following some simple steps. These steps help your colored clothes retain their sheen and color and help maintain the feel of your clothes. These steps are given below.

  1. Read the label present on the clothing and follow the instructions. Each piece of clothing is different, and it can be made up of different materials; it can be a different thickness end it might be of a different color. Usually, all the information needed to take care of that particular piece of clothing is given on the label. This saves a ton of time and can be extremely beneficial to ensure that your clothing stays new.
  2. The clothes should be sorted according to their color. It is common knowledge that light colors should be kept with light ones and dark-colored clothes should be kept together. But did you know that different color contrasts also matter when it comes to sorting? For example, you can put warm colors like yellow, orange-red together, but you have to keep cool colors like blue and green separately for optimum washing.
  3. Check the clothes for the presence of any stain. If any stain is found, pretreat it with a little bit of detergent end rub the cloth; after this, you can put it with the other clothes. If the stain is too deep and too big, it is advised to wash the cloth alone the first time and after that, wash it again with the rest of the batch.
  4. If there are any new colored clothes, turn them inside out so that their color does not seep out of them and ruins other clothes. Always keep in mind the quality of the clothes that you buy, if the quality of the clothing article isn’t good enough, the color is going to seep out of it no matter how many precautions you take, so it is always smart to invest in a clothing article that is going to hold up its value with time and will not get completed destroyed just after a single wash.
  5. New colored clothes should be washed in cold water. This is done because cold water does not cause diffusion as much as warm water does. Just use the water that comes directly from the tap. If you think that the tap water is hard, then it is advised to add a water softener to make it softer. Hard water has negative effects on the quality of the clothing.
  6. Using fiber protection is a smart way to protect your clothes from getting stretched. This is a common problem, and it is seen mostly in cotton clothes. When cotton clothes are put into the machine, they tend to stretch and lose their fitting, which makes them seem better of putting to wear.
  7. Remove clothes from the machine when the cycle ends. If we let the clothes sit in for a long time after washing the colors white, get this old in the water, and seep into each other, this will ruin the entire batch of clothes that you have washed.
  8. Hang your clothes for drying. It is always preferred to hang your clothes instead of using a blow dryer as it is seen that dryer can cause the clothing to fade faster and hence lessen its age.
  9. Enjoy your fresh batch of beautifully smelling colored clothing!
